Manwar Ali was elected unopposed to lead the Board of Management (BOM) of Takaaful T&T Friendly Society. Ali joined the Society in 1999 and has served as a Director for the past six years. He has also held the positions of Secretary and Welfare Co-ordinator.

Ali, retired Manager of the Civil Aviation Training Center of T&T, is currently Air Traffic Services Instructor on contract to the same.  He is a former Imam and currently hosts a programme, Family Life, on the Islamic Broadcasting Network (IBN Channel 8).

Ali is the seventh person to serve as President with the first six being Imtiaz Ali, Khamal Khan, Sheriff Faizool, Aman Hosein, Aziz Mohammed and Fareed Ali consecutively.  Other positions filled on Saturday 16th April during the first BOM meeting after the 13th AGM were Vice-President- Aziz Mohammed, Secretary- Zafir Ali, Assistant Secretary- Imtiaz R. Ali and Treasurer- Asif Khan. Other members of the Board are Omar Gorib, Farouk Khan, Khamal Khan, Aman Hosein, Khaleel Ali and Terrance Ali.

Registered as a Friendly Society in 1999, Takaaful T&T offers mutual aid, savings and investment, endowment, educational, social, recreational and sporting, counseling and welfare services to its members.  There are approximately seventy functioning Friendly Societies in T&T.
