Fareed Ali was recently elected, unopposed, to lead the Board of Management (BOM) of Takaaful T&T Friendly Society. Ali was a founding member of the Society and has served as a Director for six years. He has also held the position of Treasurer and Chairman of the Investment Committee.

Ali holds a BSc in Chemistry and Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine and is currently pursuing an MSc in Project Management from UWI and an MBA from Herriot Watt University through SBCS. Ali currently works as a Control Section Manager (Ag) with WASA.

He is the sixth President of Takaaful since their inception; his predecessors having been Messrs. Imtiaz Ali, Khamal Khan, Sheriff Faizool, Aman Hosein and Aziz Mohammed in that order. Other positions filled on Saturday 24th April during the first BOM meeting after the 12th AGM were Vice-President: Aziz Mohammed, Secretary: Manwar Ali, Assistant Secretary: Ayoub Mohammed and Treasurer: Azrudeen Juman. Other members of the Board are Messrs. Omar Gorib, Farouk Khan, Khamal Khan, Aman Hosein, Khaleel Ali and Terrance Ali.

Registered as a Friendly Society in 1999, Takaaful T&T offers mutual aid, savings and investment, endowment, educational, social, recreational and sporting, counselling and welfare services to its members.
